Family house in Šebrov

The proposed family house is located in the village of Šebrov on the edge of the Moravian Karst. The site is located on the upper slope of the valley above the village. The terrain on the eastern part of the plot falls sharply. There is a beautiful view of the adjacent valley with the old village buildings and the surrounding forests. Traditional urban regulation applied throughout the village. Saddle roofs, attics, dormers, hips were required…

The longitudinally oriented volume of the house is placed parallel to the longer axis of the plot. The composition of the house is formed by the intersection of three volumes. The main rectangular volume of the house has a hipped roof. The lower volume of the garage protrudes from it. The composition is closed by a vertically placed elongated volume of an indoor pool. The design of the house tried to adress the condition of using sloping roofs in an innovative way. The final shape of the roof responds to the place with its asymmetrical composition: The volume of the house grades in its southeast corner, in contrast to the falling terrain. The surface of the perimeter walls of the house is made of brick strips, which from distant views merge with the surrounding gable roofs. The roof of the house is made of dark brown roofing. The garage is plastered with contrasting light gray plaster. The facades are materially enlivened by light wood, which is used on windows, tiles and some load-bearing structures.

It was the investor's wish that all zones of the house be located on one level. The main layout of the house is a two-storey entrance hall ending in a spiral staircase. In the southern part of the house there is a residential zone, which is connected to an outdoor pool. The northern part of the house is reserved for technical and utility premises . In the eastern part, a block of quiet zone rooms is designed. In the attic there are only two children's rooms with bathroom. The house has a partial basement. Here are the technologies and a damp wine cellar.
